According to DHL there is a restriction for the DHL Express Service to South Africa. An exception for the restrictions is a transport for necessary transport. Therefore LKF will still be able to ship to/from South Africa. Additionally there may be a delay in transition for Norway. The service to/ from Czech Republic is totally recovered. A temporary service adjustment for transit time for around 1-4 days may apply.

World Courier informed us that they are maintaining their supply chain. They use the best available transport and storage options even in case of new border restrictions an limited airfreight availability, restricted movement and an evolving situation. They are also facing restrictions for South Africa but maintaining the import and export.

27.03.2020

Marken informed us that they are able to provide alternate routes in most of the critical areas. The transit time may have a delay due to the circumstances. Marken is still not able to provide a service in Georgia as this country has a country-wide lockdown. DHL has a delay for shipments from/to Georgia as well. Please allow more time for a shipment to/from LKF in generell as there are time delays for most shipments.

However, most updates are still valid and LKF is able to operate normally.

26.03.2020

Quite a few countries have closed borders or even a country lockdown. Mostly the travel of goods is not affected. If you are not sure about a certian county please contact LKF. Please find an overview here.

25.03.2020

Most of our couriers are not insisting of a signature for a delivery of a package anymore.

World Courier

They are providing contact-free pick-up and delivery of all shipments. World courier will contact the shipper or consignee by telephone in advance to confirm the recent situation in place regarding the COVID-19 situation.

FedEx

FedEx is only seeking for a verbal confirmation and there is no need for a signature upon delivery. As all non essential shops and services are closed in ost of the European countries there is no delivery to a destination or business that is closed.

DHL

DHL is also not insiting on a signature upon delivery. The recepient will make a signature on their own paper which will be pictured by a DHL employee.

LKF generelly is able to operate a normal business overall. There may be restrictions for shipments with the couriers for certain areas. If you require assistance for a special shipment please contact LKF directly. We will get in contact with the couriers and provide further information. Due to border closures or country lockdowns LKF is also facing some difficulties for shipments to certain countries.

The shipment of certain areas can be restricted dependig on the courier and the area of destination. Please see an overview of all countries LKF is cooperating with specially according to the data provided by Marken here.

However, we are still able to work with our special couriers and therefore we can still provide a service to most countries. Additional fees can apply. If you do have any questions please get back to us.

Currently there is also enough material on stock at LKF to ship all requested re-supplies to the trial sites. We received feedback from our suppliers that they are working with high power to keep up the supply chain. There might be a delay for certain articels depending on the country of manufacturing. LKF is making all efforts to avoid any problems regarding the shipments done for our clinical trials. In case of supply difficulties we are also looking for alternative articels in order to guarantee the supply chain for the sites. As of the state right now the supply of sanitary products may be delayed but LKF still has articels on stock.

In regard of the current situation please order needed materials ahead of time.

16.03.2020

Currently all borders to Germany are closed for the transit of all tourists. The merchandise traffic is not affected at the moment. Nevertheless it can cause delays in the delivery of supplies for the sites and samples to LKF. Additionally some countries have closed their borders for flights. Our logistics team is working on high demand to re-schedule the routes and to guarantee the ongoing delivery of all goods and samples.

Currently it is not possible to get any samples from or to Italy, which is why scheduled pick-up dates had to be postponed.

At the current situation LKF is able to continue the manufacturing and distribution of all lab supplies. Also laboratory analysis is not affected and we are maintaining normal business operations. Due to the fact that we have no influence on the collection process of biological specimens, we keep the main focus on logistic and analysis.

We also prepared a pandemic plan and we will be able to work according to that plan if situation is worsening.

"Due to additional costs that are raised from local service providers, Marken may need to apply a temporary surchage based on these market fluctuations....A daily manifest will be sent."
